I finally uploaded a bunch of photos, which I know is the most exciting part of reading crafty blogs. Ready?
Here's the robot crib quilt I made for our pregnant friends:
Right now I'm working on a Crazy 9-Patch Quilt for the back of our couch, because our old fleece throw blankets got scratchy... and I just wanted to try something more complicated than rows of squares.
Here are pics of the fabrics, and the first set of blocks I finished. I
have to say, I'm not loving the browns. I wanted something like
neopolitan ice cream, but I was on a tight budget and every cheap brown
Joann's had was sort of ugly. Of course I had a bunch of pinks saved
up, so the hardest part there was narrowing them down. The yellow with
pink flowers in the middle of the fabrics is my favorite of all, but I
only had one fat quarter and can't find anymore. So sad.
Next, I'm thinking about making a photo quilt for my mom. Her sister
emailed her a bunch of old black and white pics of her family, and I
thought that if I could get some cute ones of my family and my sister's
family I could print them out on some of that fancy printer fabric
stuff and put together a lap blanket or something. Possibly for
Mother's Day. If not, her birthday is in November. :)
