Ysolda's buttons

Today I was reading Ysolda Teague's blog, and I fell in love with her way of displaying buttons.

I love buttons. Whenever I'm in need and get to go through the button stash, it's like Christmas morning, and every button is a fun surprise. I have a wall space behind my sewing desk that would be perfect for such a project, and then I could look at my favorite buttons every day! I'm totally going to have to do this. I'll just need to find some of those little plastic bags, because I'm bad and take buttons off their cards sometimes. I'll probably also need little clips of some sort. Wouldn't it be cute if I could find mini-clothes pins?

What a cool idea! It's similar to what I do to store my bracelets, sweater clips, and whatnot - I have so much jewelry that I gave up on boxes and just hang everything from nails on the wall. Not so good for certain things, so I strung up a "clothesline" for that stuff. :)

That's actually how I display my warm weather stuff (hats, scarfs, mittens). I hung two short clotheslines on my bedroom wall, and I clothespin them all up there, so I can grab whatever I need in a hurry, but I can still enjoy looking at them. :)

I just never thought of doing it on a smaller scale with buttons like that, but I love it.

Craig gets the parts for the pens he turns in those little ziploc baggies. I could drop a fistful of them in the mail for you if you like. I hang onto them for my beads, but I have so many more than I need right now, and he's always getting more in.

OOO, really? If you're not using them, I'd totally take some. YAY for reusing things. :)
